(1800-1878)
First female homeopath

“Homeopathy is the latest and refined method of treating patients economically and nonviolently. Government must encourage and patronize it in our country. Late Dr. Hahnemann was a man of superior intellectual power and means of saving of human life having a unique medical nerve. I bow before his skill and the Herculean and humanitarian labour he did. His memory wakes us again and you are to follow him, but the opponents hate the existence of the principles and practice of homeopathy which in reality cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment and it is beyond all doubt safer and more economical and the most complete medical science.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How is homeopathy different from Naturopathic (or Green) medicine?
Trained Naturopaths (NDs) can have a variety of skill sets — most offer natural therapies including supplements, dietary changes, natural childbirth and counseling. Naturopathy can keep a person’s “house” in order. By contrast, homeopathic medicine can help to change your “house” — to use the metaphor here — to the house that you were always meant to have. As such, the remedies go more deeply into the being and are generally not needed to be taken daily in order for profound change to take place. Homeopathy is sometimes spoken of as “energy medicine,” whereas naturopathy uses the material or “crude” substance.
Do you accept medical insurance in your homeopathic practice?
At the current time I know of no major insurance carrier that covers homeopathy. If you have an HSA (Health Savings Account) attached to your insurance plan, you may legally claim Homeopathy (using your pre-tax dollars). I can also supply you with a “Super Bill” which you can remit to your Insurance Company, in case it will honor your claim.
Do I need to stop taking my conventional medications before coming to see you for homeopathy?
No, it’s important that you not upset your current regimen, but rather wait for the remedy to act. Once we know that the remedy is working for you, we can work with your physician to help you safely and slowly reduce your conventional meds, if and as appropriate.
I’d like to bring my baby to you, but how will you know how to prescribe for someone so young?
Babies and toddlers respond beautifully to remedies — my observation of them is crucial along with taking a good case history from the parents. This includes taking the baby’s and family’s medical history and the observations of the parents.
I am pregnant, is it safe to take homeopathics during this time?
Homeopathy is safe for pregnant women and can greatly enhance the pregnancy and birthing process. Many woman have homeopathy to thank for a safe and healthy pregnancy, avoiding the many problems that may occur during this time.
Homeopathy sounds like such a good idea, how come it’s not more well established in the US?
There are many forces at work here — while Homeopathy flourished in the 19th Century in the US, corporate medicine, as it came to be known, overtook the populus in the 20th century. There are many good ideas on the planet that do not get their due, to the detriment of all of humanity. However, it is also to be noted, that Homeopathy has survived intact and thriving around the world throughout the last 250 years despite it’s detractors.
I have a friend who would like to work with you but she lives in another part of the country (or world) — how might she get to see you?
I am able to work successfully with people via SKYPE — and would be glad to hear from anyone, even distant, who feels that they would like to work with me.
